Giorno 1:
Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Per chi ama l'atmosfera natalizia (come la sottoscritta) questa città è un romantico gioiello nascosto. Arriviamo in serata, dopo un lungo viaggio, siamo ansiosi di esplorare questa cultura affascinante.
Un piccolo centro, meravigliosamente illuminato per le feste di Natale, con decorazioni che spaziano dal sistema solare a geometrie di luci e paesaggi, si gira alla perfezione in un paio di giorni.
Le temperature si aggirano intorno allo zero, quindi ci attrezziamo alla grande e partiamo alla scoperta.
Giorno 2:
Lubiana è circondata da boschi. Subito fuori dal centro, nella salita verso il Castello, puoi ritrovarti perso in uno splendido labirinto di alberi e foglie, che assorbe ogni suono e regala pace e silenzio. La città a Natale è addobbata a festa, piena di luci, colori e profumi di inverno. Un centro storico romantico e pieno di magia che ci conquista immediatamente grazie anche alla simpatia della gente di qui, accogliente e sorridente. Ma d'altra parte, se quando andiamo in giro siamo noi stessi sorridenti e aperti agli altri, è difficile davvero trovarsi male. Domani ci spostiamo, l'esplorazione prosegue.
Giorno 3 - mattina:
La Slovenia ci ha regalato una perla nascosta quando, spostandoci da Lubiana verso l'Austria, abbiamo incrociato il favoloso Lago di Bled. È un posto incredibile, sembra uscito da una favola, con il suo isolotto al centro e la Chiesa nel mezzo, la cui Campana dei Desideri risuona nel silenzio assoluto della valle. Siamo stati benedetti da una giornata di limpido sole come di rado se ne vedono di inverno a queste latitudini. Esistono ancora posti del genere, ed è un vero conforto. È nostro preciso dovere arricchirci come esseri umani ed esplorare nuove culture, a noi vicine e lontane. Mantenendo la mente ed il cuore aperti a quello si crede sia "straniero" si rimane umani, e per questo non c'è nulla come il viaggio.
Giorno 3 - pomeriggio:
La città di Salisburgo è un turbinio di luci, colori, suoni, profumi. La bellezza di questo salottino a cielo aperto non è nemmeno per un attimo offuscata dall'incredibile afflusso di persone che il ricchissimo Mercatino di Natale attira. Incastonata nelle montagne, meravigliosamente addobbata a festa, è senza dubbio un gioiello di romanticismo, da vedere in ogni occasione - ma a Natale di certo tira fuori il meglio di sé. Abbiamo passato un pomeriggio divertente, di vin brulé e risate, circondati di persone allegre e festose - mentre il coro natalizio cantava in piazza e riempiva di musica tutte le vie adiacenti. Se vi capita di andare, tuttavia, cercate di ridurre gli acquisti alle bancarelle, perché il Mercatino di Salisburgo è tanto bello e opulento quanto è caro.... Giorno 4:
Dopo Salisburgo siamo arrivati in serata a Innsbruck. Un altro gioiello. Dopo una notte di meritato riposo ci siamo immersi nell'atmosfera festosa e colorata di quest'altro salottino immerso nelle Alpi, che fin dalla mattina ci hanno guardato divertite svegliarci, passeggiare, fare acquisti natalizi, bere vin brulé e scattare decine di foto. Bello. Per mangiare....io ho faticato un po' perché non mangio carne, ma in compenso i dolci sono a dir poco pazzeschi! Ogni mattina ho mantenuto la mia pratica, almeno una ventina di minuti appena sveglia, perché, soprattutto se passi ore e ore a camminare ad una temperatura che non supera i 3 gradi, è davvero importante tenere le giunture ben oliate, la schiena in forma, e le spalle rilassate. Il breve viaggio si conclude qui, tra le luci di questa bella città, presto ripartiremo, e torneremo alla tranquillità della nostra casetta e dalle nostre micie. Ancora una volta sono grata all'universo per essere tanto fortunata da potermi permettere (seppur con sacrifici) di poter girare e allargare la mia mente a nuovi paesi e nuove culture. Quando avete la sensazione di non avere abbastanza, di essere costretti a sacrifici per far quadrare i conti - non pensate a chi sta meglio di voi, ma a chi non ha nemmeno acqua da bere. E' solo prospettiva.

Day 1: Ljubljana, Slovenia.
For those of you who love Christmas atmosphere, this small city looks like a hidden gem. We arrived a few hours ago, after a long ride, and we are excited to explore this fascinating culture.
It's a pretty small town, and a couple of days are enough to get the best of it.
Day 2:
Ljubliana is surrounded by woods. Just outside the city center, you may get lost in an amazing labirynth of trees, that absorbs sounds and voices and leaves you in peace and silence. Wherever you turn the city is full of Christmas lights and carousels, full of colours and wintry holidays scents. The city center is romantic and full of magic, the people from here are nice and smiley, but however, is very difficult to have a hard time somewhere, if you show yourself open and nice to others. Tomorrow we will move, exploration goes on.
Day 3 - morning:
Slovenia gifted us with a hidden pearl, when we discovered the lake Bled, while moving towards Austria. This place is amazing, it truly looks like it comes out of a fairytale. In the middle of the Lake you can see a small island with a Church, where the Wishing Bell constantly sounds in the silence of the valley. We were blessed by a sunny, beautiful day, which is quite rare, here in Winter. I'm amazed that you can still find places like this, still. We, as human beings, have the precise duty to explore, meet other people and cultures, because this is precisely how we can stay human, keeping our heart and our mind open to what we may think it's "foreign", and to travel means to stay open, and to stay human.
Day 3 - afternoon:
Salzburg is a carousel of lights, colours, sounds and scents. Neither the astonishing amount of people that are here for the Christmas markets can dim the beauty of this cosy and classy little town. Set into the Alps, wonderfully decorated for Christmas, it's truly a romantic gem, beautiful to visit on any occasion, but on December it definetely shines on its best. We spent a funny afternoon here, laughing and drinking vin brulé, listening to the Christmas Choir singing beautiful chants right in the middle of the square. If you happen to be here at Christmas, try to avoid shopping at the Market... it's as lovely as it's expensive!
Day 4:
After Salzburg we stopped in Innsbruck - another gem.
After a few hours of rest, we dived into the coloured and party-like athmosphere of this small beautiful town, hidden between the Alps, tha have watched us chat, stroll around the center, drink vin brulé, so some shopping and taking tons of pictures.
Cool.
I had quite an issue with eating here, since I don't eat meat, but on the other hand, sweets are awesome!
I did my practice every single day, to keep my joints, back and shoulders in good shape after hours of walking in such low temperatures.
Tomorrow we are getting back home, to our beautiful kittens and to the silence of our house.
I feel so blessed that I have the chance (even if with a few sacrifices) to enjoy these small journeys, that open my mind and my heart to other people and other cultures.
When you feel you miss something, when you think you don't have enough, do not compare to others who have more, but to those who don't even have some water to drink.
Always a question of perspective.
